Dr. Jose Castro ~ Mote Marine Laboratory – Shark Identification

Mote Marine Laboratory Senior Biologist, Dr. Jose Castro is also a scientist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Dr. Castro's passion for shark Identification led to his first publication: The Sharks of North American Waters, where he detailed 112 shark species in a 180-page field guide. His dissertations on the Atlantic sharpnose shark, the chain dogfish and golden hammerhead, were the backbone facts about these three unstudied species. Dr. Castro's specimen research efforts have taken him all over North America and worldwide to Trinidad , Mexico , Portugal , Canada and Jamaica among other places.
