Volunteer Position Descriptions

Catered Events Host

This position involves hosting guests of corporate parties when the Museum is rented during the evening. Duties include greeting guests in the Lobby, teaching at key exhibits within the building, giving limited tours with small groups, controlling crowds as necessary, especially in the Catch Gallery, and fielding general questions from our guests.

 

Duties and skills required:

  • Have knowledge about the Museum exhibits.
  • Have knowledge about the IGFA.
  • Be upbeat and enthusiastic about the Museum and the IGFA.
  • Enjoy working with people.
  • Individual MUST be professional and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to work in the evenings.
  • This position requires no physical labor however, it does involve a lot of walking and/or standing.
  • Days of the week and exact times for Catered Events vary. These events are usually 3-4 hours in duration.
