The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) has maintained its standing as the foremost authority and record keeper for world record salt and freshwater fish, as well as one of the chief protectors of salt and freshwater natural resources with the help of our IGFA Captains.

Some of the first captains/guides accepted by IGFA under their new program include Red Bailey of St. Thomas; Al Anderson, Rhode Island; Juan "Tito" Martinez and Mike Benitez, Puerto Rico; Laurie Wright, Australia; Bouncer Smith, Florida; Roddy Hays, United Kingdom; Ron Hamlin, Guatemala; Gene VanderHoek, Kevin Nakamaru and Rob McGuckin, Hawaii.

IGFA Captain/Guide benefits include:
  • Official designation and recognition as an “IGFA Captain/Guide.”
  • Listing on the IGFA and the World Fishing Network’s website as an IGFA Captain/Guide inclusive of contact information, description and location of services, and photo.
  • Listing on the IGFA Mobile App (currently available for Apple devices) with maps and directions to your location from anywhere in the world.
