Junior Anglers, are you ready to be in the art contest of all art contests? The Coastal America Partnership is now accepting entries for its North America Ocean Art Contest. That’s right, this isn’t a school art contest or even a state level event. This is an art contest spanning all of North America!
The 2013-2014 effort will be conducted through our 25 member Coastal America Learning Center network of aquariums and marine institutions beginning in September 2013. Visit here to find the one nearest you. If there aren't any, send your submission to us. Each participating Learning Center will host a regional exhibition so you’ll be able to visit and see yours. But that’s not all!
With the goal of encouraging understanding of the ocean‘s importance to all of us, the winning art will become part of a traveling showcase. Each Learning Center will evaluate entries for recommendation to the North American traveling exhibit on the basis of strong visual impact, artistic merit and on how clearly the work expresses an appreciation of one or more of the Essential Principles of Ocean Sciences. The collection of winning art will begin touring in June 2014, and travel to various CELC locations throughout North America until July 2015. From Washington D.C. to Alaska and back down to its final destination here at IGFA, the winning art submissions will be viewed by millions!
Entries will be accepted for the 2013-2014 North American Ocean Art Contest in either of two categories: art or photography.
Participants submit their entries in one of five age ranges: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adults.
