Skip Smith

Captain Skip Smith is recognized by his peers as being one of the world’s finest fishing captains. At the helm of vessels up to 110 feet, he is responsible for 48 IGFA records. He helped pioneer the practice of bait-and-switch and excels at light-tackle angling.  Piloting the Hooker, he guided Jerry and Deborah Dunaway to 22 records on two- and four-pound line. Records included a 111-pound Pacific sailfish caught on two-pound and a 142-pound, eight-ounce striped marlin on four-pound line.
