23rd Annual IGFA Auction & Banquet

The 23rd Annual IGFA Auction & Banquet on January 26, 2007, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida is almost upon us.

The IGFA’s most anticipated fundraiser of the year promises to be another success. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with the silent auction and cocktail party in the Mediterranean Ballroom. The silent auction will end promptly at 7:30 p.m., and guests will move into the spectacular Venetian Ballroom for an exquisite dinner and the highly anticipated “live” auction. The program features the presentation of the AFTCO Atlantic Tag/Flag awards and the IGFA Conservation awards and the drawing for the “Go for the Gold” winner who splits $20,000 with the Junior Angler program.

Our “premier” item this year is a 284 Mako® Center Console with twin Mercury® 250 Verados. Other unique items include four days of fishing for four on the Great Barrier Reef aboard the 60’ Shaka. There are some new sculptors participating in the auction this year, along with favorites, David Wirth, Bodo Muche and Kent Ullberg. South African sculptor, Chris Bladen has donated a bronze blue marlin, and Kevin Clark Originals has included a very unique “turtle chandelier”. This year’s “featured artist” is renowned marine wildlife illustrator and artist, Steve Goione. Steve’s simple, yet beautiful pen and inks evolve into a wonderful blend of mediums that include watercolors, always augmented by his use of stippling to bring out the subtleties of shape and shading will bring a new excitement to an original Steve is creating especially for this event. All guests will receive a signed and numbered limited edition of Steve’s featured piece, “Still the One”. Other donations include a week for two at the fantastic Tropic Star Lodge, a week of fishing in Brazil with Amazon Tours, an original Guy Harvey painting, trout fishing at The High Lonesome Ranch in Colorado, tournament entries, including a VIP entry for the Offshore Championship in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, domestic and international charters, rods and reels, tackle, jewelry, resorts, and many, many more fantastic items.

Don’t wait any longer to make your reservations as the tables are selling quickly. Contact Ms. Lesley Arico at 954-924-4222 or email larico@igfa.org.
