2022 IGFA Light Tackle Open @ Sailfish Marina Resort

The 2022 IGFA Light Tackle Open will take place January 25-27, 2022, out of the renowned Sailfish Marina Resort in Palm Beach Shores, Florida. Now in its third year, the IGFA Light Tackle Open takes place during the peak of sailfish season in South Florida and provides a unique challenge to the top tournament teams. Are you up for the challenge?!

“I could not be more excited to announce the 2022 dates for these two incredible events,” said IGFA President Jason Schratwieser. “We are very much looking forward to celebrating our beloved sport at these two hallmark events with our members and supporters from around the world.”

38th Annual IGFA International Auction @ Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale

Angling enthusiasts from around the globe will gather at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, to attend the 38th Annual IGFA International Auction. Guests will bid on exciting trips, artwork, tackle, jewelry, and more to support the IGFA’s initiatives in the fields of conservation, youth education and angler recognition. The evening begins at 6:00 pm with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Dinner will commence at 7:30 pm with the close of the silent auction and the start of the live auction.

Guests of the 38th Annual IGFA International Auction can enjoy a reduced rate at the Ritz-Carlton from January 28 – 30, 2022.

Tommy Gifford Awards @ Palm Beach Hilton

The IGFA Tommy Gifford Awards Ceremony celebrates the captains, guides, and crew that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of sportfishing through innovation, outstanding catches, and other noteworthy examples of leadership in their trade.

The 2021 class includes: Captain Ben DeGutis, Captain Roger Greene, Captain Peter Groesbeck, Captain Andrew Mezirow, Captain Skip Smith and Captain Tony Tillett

Youth Angler Education Day @ Cane Creek Park
Apr 1 all-day

A one day program designed to expose youth and their families to various aspects of fishing.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore three separate areas to learn about Basic Fishing Skills, Aquatic Ecosystems, and Water/Boating Safety.
