Brittany Sclafani was raised in Pompano Beach, Florida, where she spent much of her time fishing and snorkeling with her family—experiences that sparked her deep appreciation for nature. Over the years, her passion for environmental conservation continued to grow. In high school, she actively participated in several extracurricular activities, including the Conservation Club.
She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability and the Environment from Florida International University in Miami. While in college, Brittany volunteered as a logistics assistant for the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival’s January 2024 event, held at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and Environmental Learning Center in Naples, Florida. She also contributed to various environmental initiatives, including the Ocean Conservancy’s 2023 International Coastal Cleanup, coordinated through a Miami Waterkeeper event.
Shortly before graduating, Brittany began an eight-month internship with the U.S. Forest Service as a Volunteer and Service Specialist Resource Assistant at Prescott National Forest in Camp Verde, Arizona. Her diverse responsibilities included assisting with cleanups, coordinating events such as the Smokey Bear Wendelin Art Exhibit, participating in archaeological surveys, and even handling a Golden Bald Eaglet.
In her free time, Brittany enjoys being outdoors and staying active. She can often be found snorkeling, collecting seashells, paddleboarding, hiking, or spending time with family and friends while exploring new experiences.
