Free, one day, outdoor event not only fun, but an educational program for the entire family that will help bring awareness to our ocean and the efforts to preserve and protect our living coral reef ecosystems. The theme this year: “Youth Ocean Education”
IGFA will be present with its Passports to Fishing program educating the public on ethical angling practices, conservation, and environmental stewardship as well as offering free catch-and-release fishing clinics to youth and their families who attend the event.

Learn-to-Fish Clinic: Cane River Creole National Historical Park
Learn basic fishing techniques and ethical angling practices through the International Game Fish Association’s Passports to Fishing Program! All fishing equipment will be provided*. Fishing is catch-and-release only. Fun for the whole family!
Established in 1994, the Cane River Creole National Historical Park serves to preserve the resources and cultural landscapes of the Cane River region in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Located along the Cane River Lake, the park is approximately 63 acres and includes two French Creole cotton plantations.

IGFA Day represents a global celebration of angling on the anniversary of the IGFA’s establishment. As part of our initiative to teach 100,000 kids to fish around the world, the 2020 IGFA Day will galvanize the organization’s international network around the theme of educating the next generation of ethical anglers.
The IGFA Permit Invitational is a premier fly fishing tournament and auction held annually with the goal of creating a competitive atmosphere to celebrate a world-class inshore game fish, the sport of fly fishing and to promote the ethics and programs of the IGFA. We are excited to hold this premier event out of the Stock Island Yacht Club in the Lower Florida Keys during peak permit season.
All proceeds from the IGFA Permit Invitational event and auction will benefit the IGFA’s conservation programs and initiatives.
