IGFA Events Safety Protocols

The health and safety of all IGFA staff, event vendors, and guests is our top priority. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event. However, we kindly ask that you stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, have recently been in contact with an individual that has symptoms, or has tested positive for COVID-19, or you are feeling ill. Although no venue outside your home can guarantee 100% protection from the Coronavirus, the IGFA follows national and local government regulations and CDC guidelines to develop strict event protocols to ensure the safest environment possible. While each event and venue is different, we are committed to providing top-quality experiences that incorporate the highest sanitation standards, hygiene, physical distancing, personal protective equipment, and food and beverage service cleanliness as possible.

Sanitation – Venues will undergo thorough disinfection before, during, and after each event.  Staff will actively and frequently disinfect surfaces of high traffic areas, including bathrooms, door handles, and elevator buttons, etc.

Hygiene- Event venues will provide additional sanitation and handwashing stations for all staff, vendors, and guests. Prior to the event, all individuals will undergo a health and wellness screening, including a temperature check and statement of health.

IGFA Staff Training and Health- All IGFA staff will submit a health wellness screening before the event. New health and safety protocol training has prepared our team to recognize symptoms of COVID-19, conduct health screenings for all vendors and guests, and assist in reinforcing event protocols to minimize physical interactions.

No-Contact Registration, Auction Bidding, and Check-out- All events will utilize an online system for registration, payment, bidding, check-in, and check-out. Any physical items available for purchase or bidding will be sanitized before the event and be available for viewing only when purchased by an individual. Most items will not be displayed at the auction venue. The exceptions being artwork.

Health Wellness Screening-All IGFA staff, vendors, and event attendees will undergo a health and wellness screening, including a temperature check, prior to entering the venue.

Personal Protective Equipment-  Government regulations may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). IGFA will provide PPE to any individuals if needed. Failure to wear and comply with required PPE may result in your dismissal from the event. Please see the event’s website for specifics regarding the required PPE.

Social Distancing- All event venues will incorporate a format and layout to allow space for proper social distancing from check-in to check-out. Staff, signs, floor markings, and guided paths will indicate safe spacing of at least six feet (two meters) apart to reduce congestion. If possible, we will use separate entrance and exit points.

Food and Beverage Service- All food and beverage vendors will undergo a health and wellness screening prior to the event. By using PPE and strict health and safety protocols, hospitality staff will limit physical interactions and increase sanitation during times of service.

For details or questions regarding a particular event’s safety procedures, please see the event’s website or contact Michelle Andersen at [email protected].
