International Angling Day (IGFA Day)
On June 7, 2019, the IGFA hosted the first-ever International Angling Day (IGFA Day) in honor of our historic 80th anniversary to celebrate angling around the world and to galvanize the IGFA’s international network of supporters.
The focus of IGFA Day 2019 was on youth education, which aligned with the IGFA’s ongoing initiative to teach 100,000 kids to fish. Through the distribution of the IGFA’s Passports to Fishing kits to its international network of supporters, the first IGFA Day was truly a global success! A total of 24 different youth fishing clinics were orchestrated around the world in 13 different countries/territories, and on 5 different continents, reaching nearly 1,300 young anglers!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this global event possible and we hope you enjoy this video that demonstrates the incredible reach of the first-ever IGFA Day!
