What an incredible evening! ![]()
On September 9th, recreational anglers from across the globe converged in Springfield, Missouri to celebrate at the awe-inspiring IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame inside Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium. We honored each of our five incredible inductees and their achievements, enshrining them in their rightful place in angling history. ![]()

On June 2, 2023, Luiza Moczarski was casting a Rapala Husky Jerky in Lake Nipigon in Ontario, Canada, when this impressive 52-centimeter brook trout struck. With this Luiza can potentially set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. She was fishing with Jon Babulic and was able to land the potential record after a short fight. Luiza then recorded her measurements on an Official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely. This record is currently pending and under review.

While fishing out of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on March 16, 2023, William Sanchelli landed this 4.28-kilogram (9-pounds, 7-ounce) unicorn filefish. With this fish William has set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species. While unicorn filefish are a circumtropical species distributed worldwide, all 5 of the previous IGFA All-Tackle World Records for the species were landed in the western Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. William’s fish tops the previous record, a 3.65-kilogram (8-pound, 1-ounce) fish, which stood for 20 years.
