Llera’s Trout Super Grand Slam

As summer in the northern hemisphere stretches on, the trout bite has been in full swing. Julio Llera recently submitted an IGFA Trout Grand Slam application that he caught on July 16, 2021, while fly fishing in southwest Montana. Llera started his day on the Gallatin River, where he landed a beautiful cutthroat and a rainbow trout. He then headed to the Madison River, where he landed a hefty brown trout to earn himself the slam. Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment and some beautiful fish, Mr. Llera!

Thompson's Offshore Grand Slam

Ava Thompson had a trip to remember back in early July. Her family traveled to the renowned Tropic Star Lodge in Panama and returned home with several IGFA Grand Slams and World Records. On July 2, 2021, Ava earned an IGFA Offshore Grand Slam when she landed a small yellowfin tuna early in the day and then proceeded to land a dolphinfish and an impressive blue marlin to round off the slam. Congratulations to Ava on an incredible accomplishment for such a young angler!
