Dobal’s IGFA Inshore Super Grand Slam
Gabriel Badano Dobal had an incredible day fishing the famed flats of Los Roques, Venezuela, on May 18, 2023. While fishing with guide Oswar Jose Valerio Quiaro, Dobal landed a snook, tarpon, bonefish, and this extremely impressive permit to earn himself an IGFA Inshore Super Grand Slam. The tarpon and snook fell to a Clouser fly while the permit and bonefish were fooled by shrimp imitations. Congratulations, Gabriel on an amazing accomplishment!
Olczyk’s IGFA Trout Grand Slam
IGFA’s Youth Angling Instructor Joanna Olczyk had an incredible day of trout fishing on May 17, 2023, while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, USA, to film for a future IGFA Virtual Field Trip. After filming was done, Joanna successfully caught and released a rainbow, brown, and brook trout earning her an IGFA Trout Grand Slam. Joanna also landed her first trout on the fly as well. Lane’s IGFA Trophy Club Striped Bass
On May 29, 2023, Rob Lane took advantage of the large class of striped bass moving up the east coast of the USA this year, landing this impressive striped bass that measured out to 50 inches (127 centimeters), gaining him entry to the IGFA Trophy Striped Bass Club. Lane was fishing with Captain Brad Weber aboard the Empty Pockets off Sandy Hook, New Jersey, USA, and caught the fish on a diving plug. After taking a few photos and some quick measurements, the fish was released safely back into the water. Congratulations, Rob on a stellar catch.
