IGFA Launches Grant Application Process for
Worldwide Anglers Relief Fund (WARF)
Supporting Fishing Communities in Times of Crisis:
Applications Now Open for Disaster Relief Grants
January 16, 2025
The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) is proud to announce that its Worldwide Anglers Relief Fund (WARF) is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations. These grants will provide critical financial assistance to recreational fishing professionals—including captains, guides, crews and outfitters—whose livelihoods have been severely affected by natural disasters, including hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Since its establishment in partnership with Costa Sunglasses in 2017, WARF has distributed over $305,000 to support fishing communities devastated by catastrophic events. These funds have been instrumental in aiding recovery efforts in regions such as the Florida Keys, Hawaii, Texas, Puerto Rico, the Florida Panhandle, The Bahamas, Belize, the Gulf Coast and Montana.
How It Works
Nonprofit organizations that support recreational fishing professionals are encouraged to apply for WARF grant funding. Selected nonprofits will distribute the funds directly to individuals impacted by natural disasters.
Eligibility and Application
If your nonprofit can provide financial assistance to recreational fishing professionals affected by natural disasters, visit www.igfa.org/WARF to apply. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to selected organizations.
- Application Deadline: March 15, 2025
- Notification Date: Organizations selected to receive funding will be notified on or around May 1, 2025
WARF relies on the generosity of its supporters to continue providing this vital relief. Recent contributions have come from Captain Experiences, Connected by Water and Costa Sunglasses through their One Coast campaign. The IGFA also extends heartfelt gratitude to its members and others who have supported this essential initiative.
