Harris’ Largemouth Bass

Sarah Harris was fishing Lake Baccarac in Mexico on July 9, 2025, when she landed this 4.08 kg (9 lb) largemouth bass. With this fish, Sarah has set the IGFA Women’s 3-kg (6 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Sarah was fishing with guide Josh Daniels when this record fish struck. After recording the weight on her certified scale, Sarah was able to release the fish safely.

Barreto’s Redtail Catfish

On September 16, 2025, Nathan Barreto was fishing the Nhamunda River in Brazil when he landed this beautiful 104 cm redtail (pirarara) catfish. With this fish, Nathan has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. The record catfish struck his cut bait and was landed after a short fight. After recording the length on his official IGFA measuring device, Nathan was able to release the fish safely.

Creech’s Black Grouper

Parker Creech was fishing the Abacos in the Bahamas on July 5, 2025, when he landed this impressive 39.69 kg (87 lb 8 oz) black grouper. With this fish, Parker has set both the IGFA Men’s Junior All Tackle and IGFA Men's 37-kg (80 lb) Junior Line Class World Record for the species. Parker was fishing aboard the Big Nasty, captained by Robert Davenport, when this record grouper struck his squid. He then returned to port for an official weight on a certified scale.

Rowe’s Swordfish

On May 15, 2025, Charlie Rowe was fishing out of the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, when he landed this impressive 137.40 kg (302 lb 14 oz) swordfish. With this fish, Charlie has set the IGFA Men's 15-kg (30 lb) Junior Line Class World Record. He was fishing aboard the Rowe 'De' O with IGFA Tommy Gifford Award recipient John Batterton when this record sword struck. Charlie then returned to Paihia Weigh Station for an official weight on a certified scale.

 

Doman’s Black Musselcracker

On June 7, 2025, Jethro Doman was fishing out of Durban, South Africa, when he landed this massive 32.60 kg (71 lb 13 oz) black musselcracker. With this fish, Jethro has set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species. He was fishing with his father, Graham, aboard their boat Teraglin when this record fish struck their bait. Jethro then returned to Durban Ski Boat Club for an official weight on a certified scale.
