Peppe’s Greater Amberjack

On December 27, 2025, CJ Peppe was fishing out of Tarpon Springs, Florida, when he landed this 101-centimeter greater amberjack. With this fish, CJ has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. He landed the record AJ after a 30-minute fight; after recording the measurement on his official IGFA Measuring Device, he was able to release the fish safely.

Dapelo's Spotted Seatrout

Brian Dapelo was fishing in Sebastian, Florida, on November 29, 2025, when he landed this 62-centimeter spotted seatrout. With this fish, Brian has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. The record seatrout ate a shrimp fly and was landed after a short fight. Brian was then able to record the measurement on his official IGFA Measuring Device, he was able to release the fish safely.

Garcia’s Cutthroat Trout

On December 1, 2025, Adam Garcia was fishing Pyramid Lake, Nevada, when he landed this impressive 8.62-kilogram (19-pound) cutthroat trout. With this fish, Adam has set the IGFA Men’s 3-kg (6 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Adam was able to land the record trout after a 20-minute battle. He was then able to record an official weight on a certified scale before releasing the fish safely.

Merricks’ Black Crappie

Derek Merricks was fishing Lake Chesdin, Virginia, on December 12, 2025, when he landed this impressive 44-centimeter black crappie. With this fish, Derek has tied the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. The record crappie struck a minnow and was boated after a brief fight. Derek was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

 

Vallarino’s Southern Yellowtail

Jose Antonio Vallarino was fishing the Juan Fernandez Islands in Chile when he landed this incredible 159-centimeter southern yellowtail. With this fish, Jose has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. He was fishing with Jorge Gonzalez Chamorro aboard the Elena 1 when the record fish struck his lure. He was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
