Wroth’s Skipjack Tuna

On April 3, 2026, Thomas Wroth was fishing Rottnest Island out of Perth, Australia, when he landed this 4.66-kilogram (10-pound, 4-ounce) skipjack tuna. With this fish, Thomas has set the IGFA Junior Men’s 4-kg (8 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. He was trolling aboard the "Natraliste" when the record skipjack struck his lure. He was able to boat the fish after a 30-minute fight and returned to the Fremantle Sailing Club for an official weight on a certified scale. 

Lytle’s Weakfish

Rowan Lytle was fishing Long Island Sound in Connecticut on May 14, 2026, when he landed this 64-centimeter weakfish. With this fish, Rowan has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. The record weakfish struck his Clouser and was landed after a short fight. He then recorded the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

Taylor's Bonefish

Laura Ann Taylor was fishing the flats of Molokai, Hawaii, on April 30, 2026, when she landed this beautiful 3.88-kilogram (8-pound, 9-ounce) Pacific Bonefish. With this fish, Laura has set the IGFA Women's 6-kg (12 lb) Tippet Class Record for the species. After an exciting fight, she was able to land the bonefish that had struck her shrimp fly,  record the weight on her certified scale, and release the fish safely. 

Szelag’s Common Carp

Agnieszka Szelag was fishing Lake Caspe, Spain, on April 1, 2026, when she landed this 16.10-kilogram (35-pound, 7-ounce) common carp. With this fish, she has set the IGFA Women’s 6-kg (12 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. She fought the record carp for eight minutes before landing the fish. She was then able to record the weight on her certified scale before releasing the fish safely.

 

Nechuta’s Walleye

On May 10, 2026, Carter Nechuta, age 16, was fishing Big Eau Pleine Reservoir when he landed this impressive 69-centimeter walleye. With this fish, Carter has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. Carter landed the record walleye on a jerkbait. He was able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
