Development Coordinator

Position Description:

The IGFA Development Coordinator is a key contributor to the fundraising activities of the organization. The coordinator is responsible for day-to-day administration of a variety of development activities, including: donor research, data management, administration, and events. Primary responsibilities include: coordinating donor correspondence and the IGFA Donor Society, identifying and researching donor prospects, maintaining the development sections of the IGFA website and data entry.

Supervisor: IGFA Development Director

Description of Responsibilities:

General

Donor Relations (60%)

  • Identify, research and develop action plans for prospects in annual giving and endowment gifts
  • Coordinate donor correspondence with the DoD and President
  • Coordinate the IGFA Donor Society
  • Assist in drafting proposal

Grants (15%)

  • Use Research Point and other prospecting tools to identify potential funders
  • Assist with drafting letters of inquiry and proposals

Administration (15%)

  • Verify integrity of data (relating to prospecting and gifts) entered and correct as necessary
  • Ensure that communication and documentation is recorded accurately and stored in an easily accessible manner
  • Enter gifts into database and process acknowledgement letters

Events (10%)

  • Assist the Events Coordinator with event logistics including:
    • Maintaining and updating event websites
    • Event registration
    • Responsible for maintaining all fundraising and mailing lists for special event invitations, thank you letters, donors, certificates etc.
    • Assist with special projects as well as attend events and work related activities as assigned
    • Assist in planning and staffing of stewardship and cultivation events and activities for potential donors

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, communications, business administration, marketing or related fields.

Experience and Skills:

  • Position-Specific
    • Minimum two years fundraising experience or equivalent
    • Strong knowledge of CRM software (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
