Education Programs Coordinator

Description: The IGFA Education Programs Coordinator will coordinate the IGFA’s youth angler education programs, including Passports to Fishing, online modules, strategic partnerships, fishing camps and clinics, and any IGFA youth education initiatives. Additionally, the IGFA Education Programs Coordinator will help enhance IGFA’s current youth angler education efforts, continue their international expansion, and develop new initiatives that leverage the IGFA’s network of supporters and further spread the IGFA’s mission and vision to recreational anglers around the world.

Other responsibilities of this position include content development for IGFA’s online and print media and requires strong knowledge of various fresh and saltwater fishing techniques and tackle, as well as excellent customer service skills, strong writing and verbal communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Experience with video filming and editing is desired.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Organize and execute robust, internationally focused initiatives and programs that appeal to a broad demographic of anglers and promote long-term retention, education, and engagement.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of IGFA educational events, which may include national and international travel.
  • Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other national and international organizations and institutions that align with the IGFA to further the IGFA’s education programs.
  • Develop content for the IGFA’s various printed, digital, and social platforms, as well as for external publications.
  • Assist other staff members in reaching IGFA goals and strategies.

Educational Requirements:

  • BA or BS required, preferably in environmental education, marine or freshwater science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an education setting is highly desirable.

Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic and advanced recreational fishing tackle and techniques.
  • Strategic vision for developing angler education programs and initiatives in support of the IGFA’s mission.
  • Ability to create educational curriculum in logical formats for online access and physical replication as documents, audio, or visual materials.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the IGFA team.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate programs and events.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to interact with IGFA staff and customers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with photo and video editing software is preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally and work weekends.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
