IGFA Day 2020

Fishing Around the World

From June 1 - June 14, 2020 post your favorite catch on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube or Twitter and tag #igfaday2020 .

In celebration of International Angling Day 2020 and to grow our sport around the world, we are asking anglers to share their favorite catches and fishing stories with us on social media starting on June 1, 2020 through June 14, 2020. We want to see your most memorable catches, but more importantly, we want to hear the stories behind them!

At the end of this global celebration of our sport, the IGFA will choose the top memorable moments from the #igfaday2020 to be featured in a digital photo gallery showcasing “Fishing Around the World."

Ways to Participate

Post a Memory on YOUR Social Media

From June 1 through June 14, 2020, post a photo of your most memorable catches and stories on your Facebook and/or Instagram pages. Provide us with a short (75 words) recap of why this catch is memorable? What are the catch details (location, date, species, weight/length, etc.)? Who was with you? Please tag #igfaday2020 in your posts, and make sure to make them public so that we can see them. Tag your favorite fishing partners and let’s hear their stories as well!

Go Fishing and Post About the Outing on YOUR Social Media

From June 1 through June 14, 2020, get outside and go fishing, if you can do so safely and legally. Post a photo of your catch and tell us the story of your outing including general catch details (location, species, weight/length, etc.). Please tag #igfaday2020 in your posts, and make sure to make them public so that we can see them.

Check IGFA’s Social Media Regularly

Tune in for exclusive guest interviews from prominent anglers from around the world and some of the biggest names of our sport, as they talk about their most memorable times on the water.

On behalf of the IGFA’s mission and vision dedicated to the conservation of game fish and the promotion of responsible, ethical angling practices, please choose your best photos showing safe handling practices especially if this fish was caught and released.

The IGFA encourages participants from around the world to follow all safe, social distancing guidelines proposed as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. We understand not everyone is able to get outside and go fishing during International Angling Day 2020 but if you can, make sure to follow all rules and regulations to stay safe while enjoying your day out on the water.
Please join us in celebrating the sport we love during International Angling Day 2020!
