Gallagher’s Trout Royal Slam
Kesley Gallagher recently submitted her first IGFA Trout Royal Slam on fly tackle, a quest she began in 1999 with a brook trout she caught while fishing Labrador, Canada. Twenty-one years passed before she landed her second trout, the elusive golden from the mountains of California, USA. Over the next three years she traveled between California, Nevada, Washington and Canada landing cutthroat, brown, rainbow and bull trout. She finished off her IGFA Trout Royal Slam with a beautiful lake trout she caught in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Congratulations Kesley, on a Royal Slam 24 years in the making!
Walls’ Inshore Grand Slam
Steve Walls had an incredible day of fishing with IGFA Captain Pat Bracher on June 6, 2023, while fishing off Cudjoe Key, Florida, USA. They started the day off with Steve releasing a beautiful tarpon which ate a live crab. Having success on the crab, Walls stuck with it and then landed a nice permit too. Realizing that an IGFA Inshore Slam was possible, he then switched to a live shrimp and landed a bonefish, which completed the challenge.
