Kyle Hall’s All-Tackle World Record Florida Bass

On March 21, 2024, Kyle Hall was fishing on Lake O.H. Ivie in Texas when he landed this massive 7.17-kilogram (15-pound, 13-ounce) Florida bass. With this fish Kyle has set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species. This is the first world record submission for Florida bass (Micropterus salmoides) since IGFA reorganized black bass records to match modern genetic classifications. Kyle was able to work with the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife to provide the results of a genetic study confirming the identity of his record bass.

 

Jospeh Rutigliano’s All-Tackle Length Tie for Tautog

On April 18, 2024, Joseph Rutigliano was fishing out of Ocean City, Maryland, when he landed this impressive 70-centimeter tautog. With this fish, Joseph has tied the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. He was fishing with Chasin’ Tide Charters with Captain Chase Eberle when he hooked the fish. After recording the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device, Joseph was able to release the fish safely. 

 

Moriyuki Kinai’s All-Tackle Length World Record Snakehead

Moriyuki Kinai was fishing Khao Chuk Lake in Thailand on February 28, 2024, when he landed this impressive 97-centimeter snakehead. With this fish Moriyuki has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. Moriyuki used a crankbait to entice this massive snakehead. After an 8-minute fight, Moriyuki safely landed the fish, recorded the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device, and was able to release the fish safely. 

 

Craig Williams All-Tackle World Record Oyster Pompano

Craig Williams was fishing in Point Samson, Australia, on May 4, 2024, when he landed this 6.74-kilogram (14-pound, 14-ounce) oyster pompano. With this fish Craig has set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species. The record pompano fell for a crab fly and was landed after a brief fight. After recording the weight on his certified scale, he was able to release the fish safely. This fish tops Craig’s previous record for the species by 8 ounces.

 

Art Weston’s Men’s 2-kg (4 lb) Line Class World Record for Alligator Gar

On April 7, 2024, Art Weston was fishing Sam Rayburn Lake with Captain Kirk Kirkland, when he landed this impressive 85.28-kilogram (188-pound) alligator gar. With this fish Art has set the IGFA Men’s 2-kg (4 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. After landing the record gar, Art was able to record the weight on his certified scale before releasing the fish safely. Art’s fish tops the previous record by over 60 pounds!
