Fox’s Northern Pike

On June 29, 2024, Peter Fox was fishing out of Brabant Lodge in Northwest Territories, Canada when he landed this impressive northern pike. Peter was using a prop fly when the pike struck and was able to boat the fish after an intense fight. The fish measured 110-centimeters on his official IGFA Measuring Device, earning Peter the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. After recording the length and snapping a few photos, he was able to release the fish safely.

 

Shapiro’s Red Drum

On July 8, 2024, Shawn Shapiro was fishing the Chesapeake Bay out of Norfolk, Virginia, when he landed this massive 116-centimeter red drum. Shawn was fishing with a live croaker aboard his father’s boat “Sea Mes” when this record red drum struck. With this fish Shawn has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. After recording the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device and snapping a few photos, he was able to release the fish safely.

 

O’Brien’s European Bass

Amy O’Brien was fishing off Wexford, Ireland on July 28, 2024, when she landed this 54-centimeter European bass. With this fish, Amy has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. Amy was using a live mackerel when this record bass struck, and she was able to boat the fish after a quick fight. She then recorded the length on her official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

 

Gredysa’s Summer Flounder

On May 12, 2024, Jan Gredysa was fishing in Shinnecock, New York, when he landed this 57-centimeter summer flounder. With this fish, Jan has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. Jan was casting a Fin-S lure when this record flounder struck. Jan was able to land the fish after a five-minute fight. He was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

 

Evan’s Brook Trout

Caroline May Evans hiked up to a high-altitude lake in Salmon, Idaho on July 11, 2024, for some trout fishing with her father. Caroline was fishing with a nightcrawler when she landed this 36-centimeter brook trout. With this fish, Caroline has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. She measured the length on her official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
