Weeks’ Pacific Bonefish
On April 6, 2025, Leon Mark Weeks was fishing the flats of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Australia, when he landed this beautiful 3.71-kilogram (8-pound 3-ounce) Pacific bonefish. With this fish, Weeks has set the IGFA Men’s 4-kg (8 lb.) Tippet Class World Record for the species. He was fishing with guide Connor Luff when this record bonefish struck his shrimp fly. After a sporty fight, he was able to record the weight on his certified scale and release the fish safely.
Moss’ Landlocked Striped Bass
Pamela Moss was fishing the Chestatee River in Dahlonega, Georgia, on April 25, 2025, when she landed this 5.50-kilogram (12-pound, 2-ounce) landlocked striped bass. With this fish, Pam has set the IGFA Women’s 10-kg (20 lb.) Tippet Class World Record for the species. She was fishing with guide Dillon Lancaster when this record bass struck her fly. After recording the weight on her certified scale, she released the fish safely.
Schall's Dorado
On March 11, 2025, Jason Schall was fishing the Uruguay River, Uruguay, when he landed this beautiful 19.87-kilogram (43-pound, 13-ounce) dorado. With this fish, Jason has set the IGFA Men’s 4-kg (8 lb.) Line Class World Record for the species. Jason was fishing with guide Fernando Guerra when the fish struck his crankbait. He was able to boat the record dorado after a 20-minute fight. After recording the weight on his certified scale, he released the fish safely.
Alsop’s Crevalle Jack
Sam Alsop was fishing out of Hobe Sound, Florida, on May 20, 2025, when he landed this 81-centimeter crevalle jack. With this fish, Sam has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. Sam was able to boat this record jack after a 35-minute fight. He recorded the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
Rahman’s Brown Trout
Paul Rahman was fishing the Ohau Canal in Twizel, New Zealand, on April 15, 2025, when he landed this impressive 17.75-kilogram (39-pound, 2-ounce) brown trout. With this fish, Paul has set the IGFA Men’s 4-kg (8 lb.) Line Class World Record for the species. Paul was able to land this record brown trout after a 30-minute battle. He recorded the weight on his certified scale before releasing the fish safely.
