Barreto’s Tambaqui

Nathan Barreto was fishing the Teles Pires River in Brazil on August 2, 2025, when he landed this 73-centimeter tambaqui. With this fish, Nathan has set both the IGFA All-Tackle Length and IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Records for the species. The record tambaqui struck a worm and was boated after a brief fight. Nathan then measured the fish on his Official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

LaBadie’s Mutton Snapper

On October 31, 2025, Captain Nick LaBadie was fishing in Grand Bahama when he landed this impressive 63-centimeter mutton snapper. With this fish, Nick has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. Nick was fishing with Whitney Rolle when this record snapper struck his shrimp fly. After recording the length on his Official IGFA Measuring Device, he released the fish safely.

Sherbovich’s Taimen

Ilya Sherbovich was fishing the Tugur River in Russia on October 6, 2025, when he landed this incredible 25.63-kilogram (56-pound, 8-ounce) taimen. With this fish, Ilya has set the IGFA Men’s 4-kg (8 lb) Tippet Class World Record for the species. Ilya landed the record taimen after a 25-minute fight. He was then able to record the weight on his certified scale before releasing the fish safely.

Di Perna’s Red Drum

On October 13, 2025, Emily Di Perna was fishing the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida, when she landed this 9.03-kilogram (20-pound) red drum. With this fish, Emily has set the IGFA Junior Women’s 10-kg (20 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. She was fishing with Captain Don Dingman when this record drum struck a blue crab. After recording the weight on a certified scale, Emily was able to release the fish safely.

 

Hawtree’s Swordfish

Lockey Hawtree was fishing out of Waihau Bay, New Zealand, on July 7, 2025, when he landed this impressive 142.80-kilogram (314-pound, 13-ounce) swordfish. With this fish, Lockey has set the IGFA Junior Men’s 60-kg (130 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The record swordfish struck a mackerel and landed after an hour-long battle. Lockey then returned to Waihau Bay to record an official weight on a certified scale.
