Walsh’s European Bass
On December 31, 2025, Morgan Walsh was fishing the shores of Ireland when he landed this impressive 10.89-kilogram (24-pound) European bass. With this fish, Morgan has set both the IGFA All-Tackle World Record and IGFA Men’s 15-kg (30 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The record bass struck his lure and was landed after a 5-minute fight. Morgan was then able to weigh the fish on a certified scale before releasing it safely.
Silvester’s Barramundi
Dean Silvester was fishing Lake Maraboon in Australia on December 5, 2025, when he landed this massive 35.40-kilogram (78-pound, 1-ounce) barramundi. With this fish, Dean has set the IGFA Men’s 37-kg (80 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The record barramundi struck his lure and was boated after a four-minute fight. Dean then recorded the weight on his certified scale before releasing the fish safely.
Crister’s Pacific Cubera Snapper
On January 2, 2026, Robert Crister was fishing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, when he landed this incredible 38.24-kilogram (84-pound, 5-ounce) Pacific cubera snapper. With this fish Robert has set both the IGFA All-Tackle World Record and IGFA Men’s 60-kg (130 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Robert was trolling a live bonito when this record snapper struck. Robert was able to boat the fish after a 20-minute fight and returned to port for an official weight on a certified scale.
Uyama’s Papuan Black Snapper
Kazuhiro Uyama was fishing the Lakekamu River in Papua New Guinea on December 2, 2025, when he landed this 97-centimeter Papuan black snapper. With this fish, Kazuhiro has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. He was fishing with guide Thomas Malaisa when this record snapper struck his lure. Kazuhiro was then able to measure the fish on his Official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
Siemens European Perch
On February 24, 2026, Jay Siemens was fishing in Haringvliet, Netherlands, when he landed this impressive 49-centimeter European perch. With this fish, Jay has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. The fish struck a swimbait and was landed after a brief fight. He was then able to measure the fish on his Official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
