Holeman's Almaco Jack
Bannan Holeman was fishing out of the Illustrious Tropic Star Lodge in Pinas Bay, Panama, when he landed this 94-centimeter almaco jack. With this fish, Bannan has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. Bannan was fishing aboard the Miss Costa Rica, captained by Daret Cortes, when this record jack struck his skipjack. Bannan was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
Reilly and Alsop’s Florida Pompano
On March 27, 2026, Sam Aslop was fishing in Stuart, Florida, with his friend, Matthew Reilly, when he landed a 46-centimeter Florida pompano. Three days later, the duo was fishing in Stuart once again when Matthew landed a 46-centimeter Florida pompano as well. Both fish are currently tied for the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. Both anglers were able to record the length on their official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
Clare’s Speckled Peacock
While fishing the Rio Pasimoni in Venezuela, on January 19, 2026, IGFA Panama Representative Horacio Clare landed this 9.78-kilogram (21-pound, 9-ounce) speckled peacock. With this fish, Horacio has set the IGFA Men’s 15-kg (30 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The record peacock struck his topwater lure and was landed after a short fight. He was then able to record a weight on his certified scale before releasing the fish safely.
Kofler’s African Pompano
On February 18, 2026, Felix Kofler was fishing out of Miami, Florida, when he landed this 15.42-kilogram (34-pound) African pompano. With this fish, Felix has set the IGFA Junior Men’s 15-kg (30 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Felix was fishing with Captain Abie Raymond when this record fish struck a live pilchard. After landing the fish, Felix and Abie returned to the docks for an official weight on a certified scale.
Parkerson’s Atlantic Bonefish
On January 24, 2026, Stacey Parkerson was fishing the flats of Cozumel, Mexico, when she landed this 2.01-kilogram (4-pound, 7-ounce) Atlantic bonefish. With this fish, Stacey has set the IGFA Women’s 1-kg (2 lb) Tippet Class World Record for the species. She landed the record bonefish on a shrimp fly after a 20-minute fight. She was then able to record the weight on a certified scale before releasing the fish safely.
