Sherbovich’s Snubnose Pompano
On May 29, 2026, Ilya Sherbovich was fishing the Seychelles Islands when he landed this beautiful 6.94-kilogram (15-pound, 4-ounce) snubnose pompano. With this fish, Ilya has set the IGFA Men’s 8-kg (16 lb) Tippet Class World Record. The record pompano fell for an alphlexo crab and was landed after a 12-minute fight. After recording the weight on a certified scale, the record fish was released safely.
Ogle’s Southern Yellowtail
Malakai Ogle was fishing Cape Brett, New Zealand, on June 7, 2026, when he landed this impressive 20.75-kilogram (45-pound, 11-ounce) southern yellowtail. With this fish, Malakai has set the IGFA Junior Men’s 8-kg (16 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. He was fishing with Greg Morgan on the Opportunity II when he landed this record fish on live bait. Malakai then returned to the Bay of Islands Swordfish Club for an official weight on a certified scale.
Freidl’s King Mackerel
Bo Freidl was fishing with Captain Don Dingman out of Jacksonville, Florida, on June 11, 2026, when he landed this 11.45-kilogram (25-pound, 4-ounce) king mackerel. With this fish, Bo has set the IGFA Junior Men’s 15-kg (30 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The record mackerel struck a live cigar minnow and was landed after a 20-minute fight.
Miles’ Smallmouth Bass
On May 22, 2026, Bryce Miles set the IGFA Junior Men’s 3-kg (6 lb) Line Class World Record for smallmouth bass while fishing New York's Conesus Lake. The record-setting 1.87-kilogram (4-pound, 2-ounce) bass struck Miles’ lure and put up a swift fight before being brought aboard. After documenting the catch and the weight on his scale, Miles safely released the bass back into the lake.
Bernstein’s Striped Bass
On June 7, 2026, Julia Bernstein was fishing in Eastham, Massachusetts, when she landed this 7.54-kilogram (16-pound, 10-ounce) striped bass. With this fish, Julia has set the IGFA Junior Women’s 3-kg (6 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. The striper ate a Sebile Magic Swimmer and was landed after a 20-minute fight.
