Newly Approved IGFA World Records

John Morrow was fly fishing with guide Tommy Robinson out of Key West, Florida, US, on February 23, 2024, when he caught-and-released this impressive 90-centimeter permit to set the new IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. The record permit fell for a crab fly and was boated after a tough fight. The duo then recorded the length on their official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

On January 4, 2024, Agnieszka Szelag was fishing the Rio Ebro in Spain when she landed this 13.75-kilogram (30-pound, 5-ounce) common carp to set the new IGFA Women’s 24-kg (50-lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Szelag landed the fish after a quick fight and quickly released it after the necessary documentation was completed. With this new record, Agnieszka now has a total of eight current IGFA Line Class World Records for common carp!

On October 21, 2023, Cooper Garmeson was fishing in Dauphin Island, Alabama, US, when he landed this 93-centimeter jack crevalle, setting the new IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior Record for the species. Cooper was fishing with his father when this jack struck his lure and boated the hard-fighting jack after just a seven-minute fight. The duo then recorded the length on their official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

Katherine Koets was fishing Lake Michigan in Green Bay, Wisconsin, US, on March 15, 2024, when she landed this 3.74-kilogram (8-pound, 4-ounce) walleye to set the new IGFA Women’s 6-kg (12-lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Katherine was casting a Rapala Scatter Minnow when this walleye struck.
