Barreto’s Payara

On March 19, 2025, Nathan Barreto was fishing the Teles Pires River in Brazil when he landed this 84-centimeter payara. With this fish, Nathan has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. The record payara was enticed with cut bait and was landed after a short fight. After recording the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device, Nathan was able to release the fish safely.

Bernstein’s Greater Amberjack

On May 18, 2025, Julia Berstein was fishing out of Key West, Florida, when she landed this 14.15-kilogram (31-pound, 3-ounce) greater amberjack. With this fish, Julia has set the IGFA Women’s Junior 10-kg (20lb.) Line Class World Record for the species. Julia was fishing with Captain Dale Bittner aboard the Bait Stealer when this record amberjack ate her live pinfish. Julia was then able to record the weight on her certified scale before releasing the fish safely.

 

O’Brien’s Common Carp

Amy O’Brien was fishing the River Segre, Spain, on April 15, 2025, when she landed this 91-centimeter common carp. With this fish, Amy has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Junior World Record for the species. Amy was able to land the record carp after a 10-minute fight. After recording the length on her official IGFA Measuring Device, she was able to release the fish safely.

Walker’s Grey Snapper

Captain Ed Walker was fishing out of Tarpon Springs, Florida, on March 25, 2025, when he landed this 60-centimeter grey snapper. With this fish, Ed has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. Ed was fishing aboard his boat, Long Gone, when this record snapper took his fly. After recording the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device, he was able to release the fish safely.

 

 

Weston's Crappie

On August 20, 2025, while fishing with Nolan Sprengeler of Avid Fishing Adventures Guide Service, Art Weston landed this 40-centimeter white crappie. With this fish, Art has tied the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species, tying a record he set just the day before with a 39-centimeter fish. Art landed the record crappie on a jig and was able to measure the fish on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
