How to Qualify for the IGFA Master Angler Award

To qualify for the IGFA Master Angler Award, individuals must achieve Gold Tier across five of the seven available categories.

Dr. Martin Arostegui

Marty has reached Gold Tier across five categories, All-Tackle records, All-Tackle Length records, Line Class records, Tippet Class records, and Trophy Fish Clubs. He has amassed 438 IGFA World Records over the course of four decades, including 37 All-Tackle World Records,105 Line Class World Records, 232 Tippet Class World Records and 64 All-Tackle Length World Records. Additionally, Marty has achieved nine IGFA Trophy Fish Clubs completing five of the seven available categories and earning him the IGFA Master Angler Award.

Roberta Arostegui

Roberta has reached Gold Tier across five categories, All-Tackle Length records, Line Class records, Tippet Class records, Trophy Fish Clubs, and Royal Slams. She has amassed 297 IGFA World Records over the course of four decades, including 184 Line Class World Records, 89 Tippet Class World Records and 12 All-Tackle Length World Records. Additionally, Roberta has achieved nine IGFA Trophy Fish Clubs and nine IGFA Royal Slams, completing five of the seven available categories and earning her the IGFA Master Angler Award.
