Dr. Steven J. Cooke

Dr. Steven J. Cooke is a professor of fish ecology and conservation at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.  He studies marine and freshwater fish and is best known for his research on recreational fisheries science. He has studied catch-and-release on everything from bluefin tuna to bluegill, and bonefish to brook trout.  Cooke is a Fellow of the American Fisheries Society, Chair of the Sea Lamprey Research Board for the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and Board Chair for KeepFishWet.org.  Cooke is also an avid angler and loves to spend time fishing (aka undoing tangled lines) with his three young children.
