Hefley’s Pacific Black Snook

On May 9, 2026, Will Hefley landed this massive 32.19-kilogram (72-pound, 9-ounce) Pacific black snook while fishing out of Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, Costa Rica. The incredible snook has set the IGFA All-Tackle Record for the species. The snook struck a live sardine and was boated after an intense fight. Will then returned to Marina Pez Vela, an Official IGFA Weigh Station, for an official weight on a certified scale.

Aslop’s Crevalle Jack

On May 1, 2026, Sam Aslop was fishing off Hobe Sound, Florida, when he landed this impressive 92-centimeter crevalle jack. With this fish, Sam has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. Sam was able to boat the record jack after a 15-minute fight. He was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

Loe’s Kelp (Calico) Bass

Derek Loe was fishing off Santa Monica, California, on April 22, 2026, when he landed this beautiful 61-centimeter (calico) kelp bass. With this fish, Derek has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. Derek was fishing with guide Oliver Ngy when the record fish struck his swimbait. The fish was boated after a short fight, and he was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely. 

Senyohl’s Smallmouth Bass

On May 23, 2026, Chris Senyohl was fishing Lake Sammamish in Bellevue, Washington, when he landed this 53-centimeter smallmouth bass. With this fish, Chris has tied the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. The record smallie struck his sculpin fly and was boated after a short fight. Chris was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.

 

Gaines Cutthroat Trout

Bob Gaines was fishing Pyramid Lake, Nevada, on March 18, 2026, when he landed this beautiful 83-centimeter cutthroat trout. With this fish, Bob has set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. The record trout struck his beetle fly and was landed after a 10-minute fight. Bob was then able to record the length on his official IGFA Measuring Device before releasing the fish safely.
