Cronacher's Billfish Royal Slam on Fly
IGFA Chairman Roy Cronacher recently returned from a trip to Mallorca, Spain, where he released 4 Mediterranean spearfish on fly while fishing with IGFA Captain Vince Riera. With a spearfish release, Roy has earned himself an unprecedented SIX IGFA Billfish Royal Slams on fly, which constitutes catching an Atlantic blue marlin, Pacific blue marlin, black marlin, white marlin, striped marlin, Atlantic sailfish, Pacific sailfish, swordfish and any species of spearfish. An incredible accomplishment! Congratulations Roy!

Moffitt’s Inshore Super Grand Slam
On May 14, 2025, Greg Moffitt had a day of fishing he’ll never forget. While fishing the Florida Keys with guide Jared Raskob, Greg landed a permit, tarpon, snook and an Atlantic bonefish to earn himself an IGFA Super Grand Slam on fly! An incredible accomplishment, congratulations, Greg!
The IGFA’s Grand Slam Clubs honor the outstanding accomplishment of catching a collection of different game fish species within a single day. A “Grand Slam” is defined by an individual angler catching at least three of the eligible species within a category (see link), per IGFA International Angling Rules. All catches must be made within one calendar day, and all past and present catches are eligible, provided they are properly documented.
