Cronacher’s Billfish Royal Slam

IGFA Chairman Roy Cronacher has achieved an unprecedented seventh IGFA Billfish Royal Slam on fly. The milestone was completed aboard the Betsy in St. Lucia, where Roy landed an Atlantic blue marlin on fly to finish the slam.

The IGFA Billfish Royal Slam on fly requires catching an Atlantic blue marlin, Pacific blue marlin, black marlin, white marlin, striped marlin, Atlantic sailfish, Pacific sailfish, swordfish, and a species of spearfish, all on IGFA compliant fly tackle and IGFA fly fishing rules.

An extraordinary accomplishment. Congratulations, Roy!

The IGFA’s Royal Slam Clubs honor the outstanding accomplishment of catching a collection of different game fish species within an angler’s lifetime. For more information on Royal Slams, click here.

Leung’s Inshore Grand Slam

Henry Leung was fishing with guide Julien Audonnet in Guadeloupe on November 13, 2025, when he successfully landed both a snook and a bonefish under challenging daytime conditions. With two of the three required species in hand, Henry made the decision to continue fishing into the evening, knowing that completing an IGFA Inshore Grand Slam would require a tarpon.

As night fell, Henry and Julien remained on the water, methodically targeting tarpon in low-light conditions. Their persistence paid off when Henry connected with and landed a tarpon, officially completing his IGFA Inshore Grand Slam.

Clarke’s Inshore Grand Slam

Matt Clarke was fishing the waters of Big Pine Key, Florida, on October 25, 2025, when he achieved an IGFA Inshore Grand Slam. Fishing alongside guide Ethan Kiburz, Matt successfully landed an Atlantic bonefish and a tarpon before setting his sights on the final and often most challenging species of the slam, the permit.

Through precise presentation and steady execution, Matt ultimately connected with and landed an impressive permit, completing the three-species achievement and securing his place among IGFA Inshore Grand Slam anglers. The accomplishment highlights both Matt’s angling skill and the world-class flats fishery of the Florida Keys, where patience, teamwork, and local expertise come together to produce truly memorable moments on the water.
